last minute

Last minute shopping is not a good idea especially when you are living in Metro Manila. Last Saturday, we went to the mall to buy gifts for my loved ones. We spent almost 1 hour in parking area looking for vacant space. The mall was too crowded that you could easily bump into somebody. And falling in line, a very long line, to pay for the items was so stressful. So again, I have learned my lesson: Have your Christmas shopping done earlier.
Merry Christmas Everyone!

just random thoughts

  • Been so lazy taking outfit photos these days. And this one's taken few months ago using my friend's camera.
  • I'm currently addicted to Criminal Minds, How I met your mother and Nikita.
  • The music of Lemar, Train and Keane are in loop for 3 days now.
  • I'm searching for good movies filmed in Italy. I want to know you more, Bella Italia!
  • I'm thinking if I'll have my hair relaxed, permed or untouched. :)
  • I hope my 2011 will be full of travels and adventures.

priceless

Ten days to go and I'm home. Actually, boyfriend and Louie (a close friend of mine) planned to have land trip from Manila - Davao for EXPERIENCE. Imagine you will be sitting in the bus for like 48 hours. Scary,I know. I tried it before and it was so tiring and uncomfortable and I promised never to try it again. NEVER. But there's one good thing about traveling by bus, that is to see the beauty of  Mt. Mayon and San Juanico Bridge. So boyfriend begged me to accompany him in this journey. For LOVE, I agreed to go and thought it would be enjoyable since I will be with my two dear friends. Unfortunately, there's no more tickets available. So we have no choice but to take the plane. And Oh My Good LOrd, the fare is freakin' high already. One trip costs more than 4,000php when I usually just spend 2-3k for a trip. Lesson learned : book flights 3 months earlier.Well, what's important is I will be home this Christmas and that's PRICELESS!

Anyways, I'm trying on lipstick nowadays. I don't like to color my lips before but now I'm a convert. Just like nail polish, I want to collect different colors.lol.

I'm going home this Christmas and I am beyond excited. I already bought tickets this afternoon and I'm thinking of what to buy for my loved ones. Can't wait to eat seafoods, fresh vegetables and fruits and most especially my mom's recipes (lutong bahay). This is the most important holiday for me since I only go home once a year. As the song goes ... "♪♫ May tatalo pa ba sa Pasko ng Pinas? ♪♫ ♪♫"

And I wanna thank you guys for the comments and suggestions about books on my previous post.
 Greatly appreciated!
Have a nice week ahead lovelies!

books and reading

these photos were taken about 1 month ago.

I have come up with a New Year's Resolution already. That is, to READ and INVEST on books. I really wish I was a bookworm when I was young. I regret I did not encourage myself to read  books before. I only read books needed to boost academic standing. I did tried a novel but it took months and even years for me to finish it. Imagine that. I easily get tired while reading and it puts me to sleep. Whenever I have hard time sleeping, I just grab one and poof! i'm asleep. haha.

It's never too late. I have to fix myself and start reading.
How about you? are you an avid reader? If so, can you recommend a good book? I'll try my best to hunt them at book stores. hehe
Thanks in advance!

top 10

I was tagged by Rachel(of Glee)-look-alike friend, Mary Ann of "There's Something About Maria" to answer these tough 10 questions. And because I love her, I took time to respond to her request.haha
Enjoy reading!

    1. Why did you create the blog?
Two of my close friends, Aika and Mike, are really good bloggers. I was inspired to do blogging because of them. My first few entries are all about random topics and for me it’s a bit boring. I realized that I have to be specific or at least focus on what I really love. ..and that is..you know na..UKAY! Then I found blogs of Ms.Denise , Mads, Little Miss Dress Up and some other fashion bloggers, I got interested doing mine also. They are my inspirations. They love thrift shopping and so do I.  So why not show the world the beauty of “thrifting”? Then Mike convinced me to do outfit posts using my ukay(thrift) finds. I'm a bit hesitant. I’m not confident to show my poses and yes, be published online. It takes a lot of courage. Then gradually I found myself getting more obsessed with thrifting and doing outfit posts.  I'm happy with what I'm doing and I'm forever grateful to my inspirations. (tissue please)

    1. What kind of blogs do you follow?
I follow blogs that interest me usually about food, photography and fashion.

    1. Favorite makeup brand?
Hala! Honestly, I don’t wear make-up. I only have Lipstick and face  foundation.  Extreme Shine for lipstick and Garnier for face powder.

*if you guys can recommend good make-up, please tell me. Thanks.

    1. Favorite clothing brand?
I’m not very particular with  brands. As long as I feel comfortable with it, then go!

    1. Your indispensable makeup product?
    I can’t live without foundation!

    1. Your favorite color?
Other than black and white, I also love RED and GREEN.

    1. Your perfume?
I’m not into perfumes. My head aches whenever I smell one. I prefer colognes. (ganun ako ka-boring.haha)

    8. Your favorite film?
My ultimate favorites are REDCLIFF, BEFORE SUNSET, BEFORE SUNRISE, Matt Damon’s BOURNE (identity, supremacy and ultimatum) and Clint Eastwood’s.

    9. What country would you like to visit and why?
    -  Austria , Greece and Italy
    - Japan and Hongkong
    - Australia and New Zealand
    - concrete jungle where dreams are made of … New Yowk! (ah country ba?hehe)

    1. Write the last question and answer it yourself.
    What’s your craziest dream?
    -         To perform in front of the crowd. Yes! I want to have a concert at Araneta!

    I now tag:
    Ann of My Wall
    Gizelle of Vanilla ice cream

summer and so forth

One thing I love about Philippines is that we can wear summery attire almost everyday. As much as I want to wear coats and boots like people on the other side are wearing now, I just can't because it's scourging hot here. And since you've seen me dressed in black in my previous posts, I decided to wear a floral top paired with my thrifted Steve and Barry's pink shorts yesterday for a grocery date with boyfriend.haha.

take a walk

Last weekend, while we were strolling around the new place, I stumbled upon a thrift store and found this great pair of shoes. I am so into it and grabbed it right away because it's too pretty to let go. It's still in very good condition and it's made in Italy. I'm not familiar with the brand but it sure looks durable. This is, by the way, the  best shoes I got from thrifting.shoes shoes

around my neck

Have you ever worn jewelry that easily irritates your skin? That's my problem with necklaces especially those that are made up of copper and silver. Every time I wear one, my skin becomes red and itchy. So as you have noticed I really don't wear necklaces often. Then yesterday, as I roam around St. Francis Square, I found this kind of string. It doesn't irritate my skin at all.

So if your skin is sensitive to metals, make sure to choose jewelry labelled hypo-allergenic.

Finally, I have moved in to a new apartment. I can't wait to call it a home. But my body hurts bigtime and I need a good sleep to function well. And these futon mattresses are so comfortable and relaxing. I think I'm into Japanese inspired bedroom. ganun talaga pag walang bed.haha.

the big move

Next week I will be moving in to a new place. I have transfered from one apartment to another but this is the most significant one. When I saw the apartment, I fell in love right away. The place and neighborhood is just perfect and peaceful. And the rental fee is not expensive as I have expected. I am already making a list of what to do before the big move. Lots of things to do here. Thank God, boyfriend is always there to help.

I will miss my old apartment, especially my land lady. She is the best land lady one could ever have! When she learned that I will be moving out, she said "Bakit sa lahat ng aalis, si Jing pa.". that was so awwwww. hehe

of roads and fields

Early this week, we went to Batangas for an important event and took the shortest way to avoid traffic. Along the narrow road of that rural place, we came across the farmlands and ranches and I was astonished when we passed by a breathtakingly wonderful golf and country club. I remembered we have a friend from Japan who wants to tour Philippines in a few months and part of his plans is to play golf, so we inquired for golf rates and took the chance to take photos of the paradise.

I love places like this. Perfect escape from a busy city life.I would love to come back and enjoy leisure and recreational activities. The cool fresh mountain breeze will definitely make
you feel comfortable and rejuvenated!
