Taylor Swift LIVE

I'm obsessed with Taylor Swift's live performances lately. I actually never liked her before. I remember I argued with some friends telling them how I dislike Taylor. I didn't find her beautiful (wow parang angganda ko no? yuck). Her songs are sooo "jeje" for me. lol.

Then late last year, I came across this video.

I was very impressed by her performance! And it's an acoustic version, baby. How I love acoustics!!!
Look how beautiful she is! Ngayon ko lang napansin ang beauty ni Tay and not to mention her red lips. lurve!

During the CMA night, she received a Pinnacle Award that is given to an artist whose “talent and presence will have a long-term positive impact on the appreciation of country music for generations to come". That is something! Right there and then, I became a fan. I even got a copy of her latest album "RED". I fell in love with her lyrics. Such a talent!

I searched for more of her live performances and these are my favorites.

Imagine the ecstatic feeling when I heard that she's going to have a concert in Manila on June 6? Whoa! I don't care if the crowd will compose of lots of teenagers, preschool and nursery level kids. I am going to watch her LIVE! I don't know about you but I'm feeling 22. hahaha

movie marathon

I missed so many movies last year. I'm glad to finally watch some of the 2013 movies I downloaded last week. Last weekend, I gave myself a day off from work. Yes. I work on weekends too. Since I did the movie marathon with my boyfriend, we opted to watch action-packed movies.heavy te. heavy. Jonathan doesn't like watching romantic flicks. The only romantic drama movies he loves watching are the works of Richard Linklater -> Before Sunrise, Before Sunset and Before Midnight. :) Anyways, here are the trailers of the movies we watched. I'm no spoiler, don't cha worry.

Homefront
(Jason Statham, James Franco,Winona Ryder, Kate Bosworth)
The story in the film involves a former DEA agent who moves his family and lives a quiet life in a small town but got into trouble when his path crosses with a band of drug traffickers and a meth kingpin.

My rating - 7/10. I enjoyed watching Jason Statham kicking some ass. haha! He never fails to amaze me when it comes to action scenes. It's the usual father-saving-daughter story. Also, I never thought James Franco could be a potential villain.

Lone Survivor
( Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch)
This movie is based on a true story of a Navy Seal and his team on a mission to seize the Taliban leader.

My rating: 9/10. I'm a sucker for movies that are based on true stories. I love how realistic they are. This movie is no exception. It is skillfully constructed. There are scenes that can make you nauseated. But if you are a "Game of Thrones" and "Spartacus" fan, then "sisiw" lang sayo ang ibang scenes. lol. Overall, this film is so good simply because it displays patriotism and survival! If you haven't watched it yet, please do!

The Purge
(Ethan Hawke, Lena Headey)
A horror thriller film in which the government has approved an annual 12-hour period that allows all criminal activity-including murder-becomes legal. The police can't be called. Hospitals suspend help.

My rating: 4/10. I don't even understand why I continued to watch this movie. I thought it will scare the hell out of me.But no. Fail.

Escape Plan
(Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger)

A structural security authority takes on a job: breaking out of the world's most secure prison with the help of an inmate.

My rating : 6/10. I'm a fan of Prison Break and I love how Michael breaks in from prison. I was expecting a better version from this movie but to no avail. Nonetheless, I love the twist.

So there! I also want to watch Oscar entries. I have already seen a few and will make a separate post on that. Can't wait to watch "Her" and "Blue Jasmine".

Happy 6th!

This is such a late post but I still want this event posted on my blog because it is SPECIAL. We celebrated our 6th year anniversary last November 11, 2013 in a "MEAT-ALL-YOU-CAN" restaurant in The Fort. We see to it na in every celebration, dapat busog na busog para sulit! Hence, the weight. hahaha

So happy to have survived this long. We've had ups and downs. Experienced a lot of  petty arguments sometimes because of me being so sensitive and emotional,(well that's according to him). For me, I'm just being vocal and real. haha! Our relationship is full of laughter, fun and learning. chos!

We dined in a korean inspired barbecue restaurant. It was actually our first time to eat korean food. They offer a wide selection of meat and we're glad we chose the sweet and not so spicy type of bbq.

We know for sure how we love each other. I couldn't find a better man than him.
God is so good to bless us with each other.
Cheers to more years! <3

Baguio, we meet again!

After many attempts/plans, I have finally set foot again in Baguio with mi amor, Jonathan. It's my 4th time while it's his first. I was actually excited to show him the wonders of the city.

What triggered us to go is the 8.0 degree Celsius as reported by TV and newspaper. haha! (tagaw!)
We left Pasay Thursday night and arrived in Baguio at 5 in the morning! And boy! it was so cold. I thought my fats could handle the cold temperature, but no! Our thick jackets were not enough to keep us warm. Nevertheless, we enjoyed it! We savored the Baguio chills!!!

It took us almost 2 hours to search for a lodge or inn. We braved the chilly air of session road. We didn't mind though, at least we were to able have exercise. haha! palusot. We didn't book in advance because we wanted to look for cheaper ones. We are budget travelers and we make sure that the cost of the trip doesn't take up so much moolah from our pocket. As long as bedding is clean and bathroom works fine, then I'm good.  We actually had difficulty searching for a decent lodge since almost all of the rooms in our list are fully booked. We realized that weekend marks the kickoff of Penagbenga. Glad that before session road gets crowded, we found a nice place to stay. Happy!
Our adventure started by visiting my friend Faith, who is working in Forrest Lodge in Camp John Hay. We had breakfast at Choco-Late de Batirol. We stuffed our stomach with their famous and yummy bibingka and biko paired with hot choco. Yummers!
We took a few kilometers stroll in Camp John Hay that led us to Tree Top Adventure. Jonathan was so giddy to try the katakot takot na rides. They offer different types of rides and activities. It took him almost 30 minutes to convince me to try even one the activities. I have fear of heights, by the way. Airplane lang ang kaya kong sakyan. haha . I chose The Canopy Ride because it allows me to see the magnificent view of the mountains and pine and trees through a chair attached to a zipline.  We traveled from one canopy station to another. I was so nervous at first and hindi ako makausap habang si Jonathan ay pasway-sway na lang. I even prayed na sana matapos na. haha. But hell yeah, I conquered my fear, yo!nabawasan ng 10%. :))
very beautiful view from the top
We visited the Philippine Military Academy in the afternoon and had dinner with Faith too.

We woke up early the next day to get the freshest strawberries in the field. It only takes 20 minutes to travel to La Trinidad.

We went straight to BenCab Museum after our La Trinidad trip. I must admit it is one of the most interesting and lovely museums in the Philippines. It displays the personal collection of Benedicto Cabrera, a best-selling painter and a National Artist. The art gallery also contains works of some talented Filipino artists. Here are some of my favorites.

Ended our day with boating in Burnham Park. We feel like kids again! So much fun!!!

p.s. See more of my Baguio photos here.

Nothing has changed. Baguio still is my favorite city in the Philippines!!!

I can't believe I blogged after 48 years. haha! Cheers, amigos!
